What is 360 Feedback?
360 Degree Feedback (also known as ’360 Feedback’, ’360 Appraisals’ and ’Multi-Rater Feedback’) gathers views from all “around” an employee at work i.e. from their manager, team, peers, internal customers, other senior managers and partners.
Traditional performance appraisals have been part of standard management practice for decades now. 360 degree Feedback takes performance management further allowing a participant to explore behaviours and expose blind spots in a more profound and rigorous way than is possible with manager feedback alone. This is because it displays a range of credible perspectives with detailed and specific information.
It is also a very powerful self-exploration tool which is often used to ensure employee engagement, to encourage maximum commitment and willingness to fully contribute to the organisation as well as to improve leadership abilities.
